True Belief
is a tiny, intermittent, informal, independent art publisher, organised by Adam Cruickshank. It was initially instigated as an umbrella for releasing my own artist books, curated project publications and catalogues for friends. While remaining true to these make-do, non-professional beginnings, True Belief is increasingly concerned with the relationships between contemporary art practice and its methods of publication and archiving. The open nature of discussions with collaborators reflects the fundamentally experimental ethos that underlies each project. The formal qualities of each True Belief publication vary, there is no specific distribution model, no permanent stockists, little consistency, no office. Publications are unnumbered/unsigned and although print runs are necessarily small, editions are usually open. Conversation and order enquiries are always welcome: adam@truebeliever.com.au
